Well there are all the hospitals in the Texas Medical Center (there is no medical center like it in the world; has some of the most advanced medical research and has the most extensive hospital systems), so I recommend any hospital in the med center.

Tell your RN friend that four hospitals in the Medical Center earned Magnet Status Recognition (excellence in nursing, it is highly prestigious and most RNs would kill to work at a magnet hospital):
Texas Children's Hospital
St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital
The Methodist Hospital
The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center

Other great medical center hospitals are:
Memorial Hermann Hospital
Ben Taub Hospital
Shriner's Hospital for Children

There are other hospitals spread thoughout the outlying areas of Houston but the best places to work are in the medical center. If your friend is interested in living in a particular part of Houston and wanting to work near home, let me know and I can tell you about the "outlying" hospitals (which ones are good, what they are all like, where they are at, etc.).

My mother is Vice President of Human Resources for Sister's of Charity. She runs HR for hospitals all over the country. She has deep connections to St. Joseph's and many other hospitals here in Houston. She's always looking for good nurses. Her office is here in Houston. Have your friend email me and I'm sure we can find her something he or she will like. Brian.
