It's time to stop all these certificate programs that are essentially worthless.

At out major health care providers, receptionists are required to have a high school degree and 2+ years experience. Knowledge of multi-line phone systems is helpful.

If your school offers a medical terminology class, an interpersonal communications class, and an English writing class, take them. Most doctors are not going to tolerate notes and messages from someone who writes like this questions is written.

To be an MA, it's generally a year long program that's fairly fully time.

I don't know what "do those taking shots" means, so I can't help there.

My community college offers a 2 year course on secretarial/office software.
This is an excellent way to get a nice future working as a secretary.
As a mom, you might consider working at a school as a school secretary also.
They get school hours, long holidays (same as kids), and summers off.
Or, you could even land a job as a day care center secretary.
