I'd find the one that has the most relaxed birthing rooms (doesn't look like a sterile operating room for labor and delivery), a lower c-section rate and one that has Nurse-Midwives on staff; even if you are seeing a doctor. This gives you a little more assurance that they see birth as normal and won't run you through an "assembly line" of delivery procedures. I would take a guess that all of those hospitals have reliable physicians on staff, even during the holidays (we don't have socialized medicine ...yet). Go and take tours and ask what general "routine" practices are. These are things you need to decide yourself. Where does your doctor have privileges? Surely she doesn't deliver at all those hospitals? Best wishes and good health.

Also, you might want to read "Ina May's Guide to Childbirth" to get an idea about what you really want and are looking for in a birth facility.

I live in Tucson, and all my friends and relatives have their babies at St Joe's they say that's the best and I'm not sure why. I was born at TMC :)
