You aren't going to get any proof from Yahoo! Answers. You need to get the word of a professional horse nutritionist. But to answer your direct question. NO I would never consider feeding my horse anything except good quality mold free hay and good clean fresh feed that is meant for horses not some femented crap left over from his still.

You won't get proof from Yahoo! Answers, but of course it isn't OK to try and rehab a rescue horse with distillery slop. Jerry Hahn is a liar, a criminal, and a heartless scumbag. A true rescue places sick horses by themselves to eat so they will have no stress, not stick them all in a mud-lot to pick at the middles of moldy old round bales.
I'm glad this case is getting a lot of attention, and I hope Hahn gets ALL his animals taken away from him.

proof you can get from university studies that you can acsess online-- email a university equine professional tell them the situation and i am sure they will give you thier word on it wich you could ise against him, coming from a professional. distillery slop is terrible, inadequate nutrition and not to mention the disgust of it. and moldy hay!!!! that is one of the most common causes of respitory illnesses in horses not to mention the all the other health issues it can cause. I just saw this on CNN i Report. It's horrible and distillery slop is not proper nutrituion for any animal. And moldy hay? Thats not good for their stomachs.

try beet pulp...it works wonders, and is cheap...or mix a little omegatin (a cup twice a day) with the grain. It smells like cake, and horses love it. It makes horses gain weight quick and makes their coat look amazing...I've seen both do wonders on sick and thin horses

As someone said, email a university and ask. I just watched a report on ireport.com, i'm from england and it literally made me cry to see that! There was also BARBED WIRE!? And there was an aborted fetus on the ground! It's sick!
