Elmhurst is far from downtown...great hospital but squarely in the red suburbs. The heart of the downtown district is called "The Loop." It's identified on the map below which shows the hospitals in the area. A, C, D, E are top notch and not far from the Loop:

Chicago has a lot of hospitals. Choose one in your liking. Also, Chicago is a big city. There are hospitals in Chicago which are close to certain suburbs. It all depends where you live, whether you are in downtown (Loop), in the North Side, NW side, NE Side or the South Side. These are all in Chicago area.

Try the VA Medical Center, which has hospitals in Chicago and in Suburbs. VA stands for Veterans Administration, which, of course, is a hospital for military personnels.

Resurrection Medical Center in Oriole Ave, University of Illinois Medical Center close to Lakeshore Drive and many more. You will be the one to assess whether the 'employer' offers adequate employee benefits. There's no such thing as a good employer. It all depends on the employee benefits offered.
