So, next week some friends and I are going to Central State Hospital in Indianapolis to do a photography project. We don't want to vandalize anything or disrespect the facility at all- just get some cool footage. So, can you get into the actual buildings, not just the museum? I've heard it may be...

Same answer as in the other group...

Central State is owned by the State of Indiana, if you go there uninvited you will be ran off, if you don't leave you will be arrested. You can't get into the buildings they are either boarded up or locked up, again trying to get in them would be considered breaking and entering along with trespassing. Sorry the buildings aren't haunted, nothing is really haunted. Ghost aren't real. There is nothing there but a bunch of old ran down, musty, stinky buildings that are probably full of asbestos and will give you cancer if you go messing around in them. I have been in one of the buildings about 15 years ago and was escorted by either a Capital Police officer or state employee for my entire time I was there. I was there for legit business and they wouldn't let me out of their site for a second. So don't go wasting your time there, you will only get in trouble.

There is a hole in the fence off of Tibbs ave. you can definitely get in to almost every building, not through the front door, but plenty of windows are broken out etc. Yes it is illegal and most likely dangerous, but aren't all of the best things in life? :) I would advise bringing a bookbag, a flashlight, a back up flashlight, some sort of camera, and wear comfy shoes, the property is huge! The cops there ride on horses pretty often so they can chase down people who are in the grass (doing this in a car would damage the property) so if you hear what sounds like a horse close by, run!
